Courtney Sorensen started her beekeeping journey in 2020 and has grown her apiary to ~20 hives at her home in Carnation. Courtney has been on the board of Northwest District Beekeepers Association since fall 2021, serving as president for the past year focusing on engagement and member community rebuilding within the organization, as well as teaching new and advancing beekeepers. Courtney’s favorite aspect about beekeeping is the continued learning and seasonal flows, along with raising new queens and baby colonies. Courtney is also an avid vegetable gardener, which pairs well with beekeeping and often competes for time
