The meeting will begin at 7:00 pm, with socializing beginning at 6:45 pm. This meeting will be hosted in-person at the Snohomish Senior Center.
This month's speaker is Benjamin Mark of Salish Restoration Associates and he will present on tree risk assessment and management.
About the Speaker
Mr. Mark is a certified arborist and urban forestry consultant based in the Pacific Northwest. His professional specialties include arboricultural and silvicultural health assessments, tree preservation in development projects, and tree risk assessment. Since 1999, he has worked with homeowners, architects, city planners, and conservation districts to retain or plant trees, and design rain gardens, bio-swales, and other low-impact development solutions. Benjamin prepares arborist reports, tree inventories, and restoration plans for a wide range of public and private projects. In 2019, he utilized the FLAT protocol to carry out field assessments for Forterra's Green City Partnership in Snohomish County, Issaquah, and Shoreline. The fieldwork for these projects requires extensive knowledge of tree, shrub, and ground cover species to efficiently assess forest type, tree stocking, forest health, and invasive species coverage for each management unit.
